Tutoring Your Child Can Count On

Bridging Your Gap Tutoring, LLC provides personalized academic support for K-12 students across the Denver metro area, covering reading, math, writing, and science. Every session is built around the individual student rather than a fixed curriculum, with instruction led by a licensed educator with more than 35 years of classroom experience. The business works closely with parents of elementary, middle, and high school students who are looking for one-on-one or small group tutoring, homework support, or help closing specific learning gaps. Families come to us when they want their child's academic needs addressed directly, not lost in a large classroom setting.

A Career Spent in the Classroom

Founder Shawanda Buggs has spent over three decades in K-12 education, working as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, Assistant Principal, and Dean of Instruction before starting Bridging Your Gap Tutoring. That background shapes how every student is assessed, taught, and supported today. The mission is straightforward: help every student close learning gaps, strengthen academic skills, and build the confidence to keep learning independently. That focus on measurable growth, not just short-term homework help, is what shaped the business from the start.

From First Conversation to Real Progress

Enrollment begins with a conversation about your child's academic needs, followed by a diagnostic assessment to identify specific strengths and gaps in reading, math, writing, or science. From there, an individual learning plan is created with clear goals and benchmarks for progress. Tutoring sessions, whether one-on-one or small group, begin based on that plan, and progress is reviewed regularly so the plan can be adjusted as your child grows. Parents stay involved throughout, with updates on how their student is progressing toward their goals.

Expert Leadership

Guided by licensed educator Shawanda Buggs, our tutoring draws on over 35 years of classroom and leadership experience so your child benefits from proven strategies that align with real school expectations and standards.

Customized Instruction

Every student begins with diagnostic assessments that identify strengths and gaps, then receives a learning plan updated through progress checks, so time, energy, and resources stay focused on meaningful academic growth.

Family-Centered Support Community

Regular updates, practical home strategies, and open communication help families feel informed and involved, creating a supportive circle where students feel encouraged, understood, and ready to Achieve. Educate. Elevate.

A Learning Plan for Every Student

Services range from diagnostic assessments and individual learning plans to one-on-one tutoring, small group sessions, homework assistance, and focused intervention for students who need extra support. Each offering is designed to meet a student at their current skill level and move them forward at a pace that fits them. Sessions are available in person or virtually throughout Denver, with flexible scheduling for after-school, weekend, and summer support. Parents receive regular updates on their child's progress, so tutoring stays connected to what is happening in the classroom.
