Shawanda Buggs founded Bridging Your Gap Tutoring, LLC after more than 35 years working in K-12 education across the Denver area. Her career spans the classroom and the front office alike, having served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction, and district instructional leader. That range of experience gives her a rare vantage point on how students learn and what actually helps them succeed.
Shawanda holds a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from the Center for Urban Education. She is a licensed educator and instructional leader with deep expertise in literacy, mathematics, curriculum implementation, and data-driven instruction, along with hands-on experience in MTSS, intervention planning, progress monitoring, and student assessment.
Throughout her career, Shawanda has coached fellow educators, led school-wide instructional strategy, and worked directly with students to close learning gaps and build academic confidence. She founded Bridging Your Gap Tutoring to bring that same depth of experience directly to families, pairing personalized instruction with the kind of steady, informed guidance that comes from decades in the field. Her focus remains on helping every student build the skills and confidence to keep learning long after tutoring ends.
